This piece of awesomeness was emailed to me along with the explanation below…

“Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations.  The bad news is that I had to take him down after two days.  I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever.  Great stories.  But two things made me take it down.

First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.

Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn’t realize that it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy).  By the way, she was one of the many people who attempted to do that.

My yard couldn’t take it either.  I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard.”

There are a handful of times in life when, “Oh Sh#t!” really may be the best possible response…

The AP published this a while ago and I just re-stumbled upon it.

It blew me away then…and still does.

The AP article said,

An 11-year-old Alabama boy used a pistol to kill a wild hog his father says weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9-feet-4 from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail. Think hams as big as car tires.

Nice one.  And crazy awesome indeed.

This is most certainly ”crazy awesome” but in a different kind of way than usual. 

Think awesome, as in “inspiring great awe”.

Within the narrow window of only 13 days, Hurricane Ike was born and died.  And within that small span it wreaked havoc on the several countries including Cuba, Haiti, and the United States.

Blamed for 114-ish deaths and damages estimated at over $10 billion, you can see with crystal clarity in these stunning photos that parts of Galveston, TX were simply wiped from the map.

Let these images serve as a reminder to keep the thousands of families tramautized by Ike in our thoughts and prayers.  And a hat tip to Alicia Steele for sending me the link.
